By nature, the mind is in constant agitation. Its subtle substance takes on the shape and colour of everything offered to it by the senses, imagination, memory and emotion. Intuition and discriminative knowledge are achieved only when the mind is still, in the here and now. Yoga quiets the mind and employs many paths to bring about this development. By integrating breath, concentration and flowing movement in linked sequences of postures, one experiences stillness and flexibility, strength and balance—both physical and mental—revealing the innate radiance of the Self.
